Tinkicker was formed in 2006 by composer/Guitarist Søren Lindberg and lyricist/drummer Klaus Herfort. Tinkicker has finished recording the follow up to their highly acclaimed debut,
as the debut it is a concept album and is self written, self recorded and a self produced work.
“The Playground at the Edge of the Abyss is out on Mals.
The sound of Tinkicker is a natural continuation of the sound of the early start of the Lindberg/Herfort band in the 80’s, which was heavy rock/metal with a prog influenced complex approach, savvy arrangements and intelligent lyrics, which were rated superior to their contemporaries. Through the 90’s and into the new millennium they were covering most of the heavy rock spectrum, resulting in plain heavy metal and hard rock releases.
Tinkickers’ line-up also consists of singer Klaus Bastian. He was approached at a wedding reception where he made a great impression playing in a covers band as a younger, slimmer, guitar playing version of Meat Loaf. New Boy ! Kristian Møller is recruited from upcoming thrash act Psycode to gain more musical firepower.
As a tip of the hat to two of their big influences (but also tongue in cheek) Tinkicker labeled their sound Pink Sabbath, Floyd may not be that representative apart from the conceptual, lyrical wise, as the band are also, apart from several heavy weights of Metal, inspired by acts like Zeppelin, Who, Rush and Triumph.
