Interview with Mischa Mang from the progressive metal band IVANHOE!!

Chuy: Hey Mischa, it is a real honor for me and the PerfectProg people to ask you some questions, we really admire and love Ivanhoe, thank you so much for your time and availability, please be extensive.

1. Please talk us about Ivanhoe; why so many changes in the band? Why the name?

WELL, IM SINGING THE LAST TWO RECORDINGS IN THIS FORMATION, HONESTLY I DIDNT LIKE THE NAME WHEN I FIRST HEARD IT, BUT NOW I AM USED TO IT.

2. You just have signed at Silverwolf Productions for your last album, how was that?
IT WAS A BIT WEIRD CAUSE .........YOU KNOW IT ;-)

3. Will you release some tour dates or gigs for the next months? Where and which places? (Hope you will play in America)

WE HAD REAL PROBLEMS TO MANAGE A TOUR IN THE PAST.
NOT A HEADLINER BAND THAT FITS, OR TIME SHIFTS.
AND AMERICA ....BELIEVE ME, WE WANT IT, BUT WE HAVE TO FIND
CIRCUMSTANCES THAT MAKE SUCH A TOUR POSSIBLE!

4. In the extensive career of Ivanhoe, from where has come the inspiration to create the music and wrote the lyrics?
INSPIRATION FOR THE LYRIC-REAL LIFE SUFFERING
INSPIRATION FOR THE MUSIC-WE ALL LOVE MUSIC AND WHEN SEBASTIAN PLAYS A WEIRD DRUMLINE IT..S A NICE WEIRD THING, EVEN WHEN IT SOUNDS LIKE A MODERN WALZ.

5. Ivanhoe it characterizes for their strong-voice and top singers in the metal scene; of course, you are not the exception, how is for you be the frontman for this prestigious band?
IT FEELS GOOD TO READ THAT, THANK..S, BUT FOR ME IT..S NOT THAT IMPORTANT, WHEN WE MAKE MUSIC THAT..S OF COURSE NOTHING TO THINK ABOUT.

6. Mischa, what happen with Dreamscape? You sang only in live gigs? How was work with Wolfgang?
WE JUST HAD A DIFFERENT VIEW ON MUSIC;-) THERE IS A WHOLE DEMO CD WITH VOICED TRACKS IN MY MAC. I GUESS HE DIDNT LIKE IT THAT MUCH. IM TO PROGGY OR WEIRD ;-)



7. I was really impressed about your last material, Lifeline, awesome work! Who made the music? Who wrote the lyrics?
WE ALL HAD SOME IDEAS THE MOST CAME FROM ACHIM GIO, CHUCK AND ME BUT IF SEBASTIAN PLAYS HIS SPECIAL..S ITS SOMETIMES LIKE HE COMPOSED IT NEW. ACHIM PUTS ALL OUR IDEAS INTO SOMETHING GENIUS CAUSE HE IS GENIUS.LYRICS IS MY THING TO DO BUT HERE AS WELL, ACHIM CHANGES MY WORDS OR WRITES SOMETHING THAT REALLY MAKES MORE SENSE. THAT ISN..T EASY SOMETIMES BUT IN THE END WE ALL LIKE IT.

TALKING ABOUT THE MUSIC OF THIS SONG I MUST SAY IT..S GIO..S SONG THE MOST. ACHIM AND ME BUILD THE LINE AND THE WORDS.
IT..S A FORWARD FEELING, THE BEST OPENER FOR WIM!!


13. There is some side project yours or for any band member?
I AM DOING SO MUCH MUSIC AND THEATER AND A GERMAN SOLO PROJECT AND SEBASTIAN, HE IS A PROFESSIONAL
AS WELL AND NEED TO EAT AS WELL. ACHIM WORKS AS A PROFESSIONAL PRODUCER..NO SPACE FOR ALL THAT ;-)

14. How it feels that the crowd that assists at your live gigs sings the lyrics that you wrote?
THAT IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING I EVER EXPERIENCED
